Day One Meet and Greet at Christchurch International Airport and transferred to your Christchurch central city hotel, the remainder of your day and evening at leisure.

Day Two Visit the beautiful unspoilt old French whaling depot of Akaroa. A charming small township nestled in a bay of Akaroa Harbour on Banks Peninsula. The township contains a host of historic buildings, craft and gift shops together with a multitude of idyllic photo opportunities, with time to explore and enjoy the charm and serenity of Akaroa. Lunch in the naturally picturesque setting of Akaroa Village at the popular Bully Hayes. In the afternoon enjoy the Akaroa Harbour Cruise on the Tourism Award Winning & Supreme Tourism Award Winning Canterbury Cat, exploring the Harbour sighting dolphins, penguins and seals. On your return journey to Christchurch a stop will be made at the Barry’s Bay Cheese factory, where you will get to sample some fine New Zealand cheese.

Day Three This morning collected from your Christchurch Hotel Accommodation and transferred to the Christchurch Railway Station to join the TranzAlpine train travelling from Christchurch to Greymouth, renowned as one of the top ten train journeys in the world. Travelling through New Zealand’s Southern Alps to Arthurs Pass viewing magnificent Alpine scenery from the comfort of your seat through large panoramic windows. From Arthurs Pass the train travels through the Otira Tunnel to the West Coast of the South Island, with its lush native bush, fast flowing rivers and lakes, to Greymouth. On your arrival in Greymouth, early in the afternoon, your tour concludes.
