An independent three day tour for CISV delegates departing Auckland on the 19th April 2020 with two nights 4 - 4.5 star accommodation in Rotorua prior to your tour concluding in Wellington on the 21st April. The tour includes a full day in Rotorua with admission and tours of the Agrodome, Rainbow Springs and Te Puia. On day one the tour travels to Rotorua via Waitomo where you will experience a guided tour of the glowworm caves.

Day One: 19th April 2020       Auckland – Waitomo Caves – Rotorua
Today depart Auckland for Rotorua travelling south through rolling hills and pastor land of the Waikato. Your first stop is at the mystical world of Waitomo, home to the Waitomo Glow-worm Caves. View cave formations, stalactites, stalagmites by drifting silently in a boat through a Glow-worm Cavern lit up with thousands of tiny glow-worm lights. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch whilst traveling through the heart of the Central North Island to Rotorua where the Geysers, bubbling mud pools and Maori culture await. A Picnic Lunch is provided on route.  On arrival you will be transferred to your evenings accommodation.

Day Two: 20th April 2020     Rotorua
A sightseeing tour of Rotorua which includes  Te Puia where you will  experience Rotorua’s famous Maori culture and geothermal activity with a tour of the neighbouring Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley – a place where mud pools bubble and boil and geysers shoot steam high into the air.  The next stop is at the  Agrodome, there you will  see Rotorua’s agricultural industry in action at the Agrodome; a working organic farm where you can find out all about farming life in New Zealand. Watch a sheep shearing display and see sheep dog trials where the farm dogs show off their amazing skills. The final stop of the day is at  Rainbow Springs Nature Park, discover New Zealand wildlife and natural scenery here you can get up close to native flora and fauna including the famous kiwi – a flightless native bird. Wander through native forest and discover New Zealand birds, fish and lizards (including the ancient tuatara), as well as exotic animals from around the world.

Day Three: 21st April 2020    Rotorua – Wellington
This morning you will depart Rotorua, travelling south to Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand, on this the final day of your tour. Travelling south initially through native forest and heavily bushed hills to Lake Tekapo, New Zealand’s largest lake. Then via the shores of Lake Taupo to the dry arid central plateau the home of several active volcanoes. The volcanic cone shaped snow-capped mountains form a spectacular back drop to this barren landscape. Prior to arriving in Wellington travel down the Kapiti Coast on the South-eastern tip of the North Island, here you will have great views of Cooks Strait, Kapiti Island and on a clear day the mountains of the South Island. Arriving in Wellington late afternoon at which time you will be transferred to you central city accommodation, at which time your tour will conclude.

  1. Should you require one or more nights accommodation in Auckland prior to the commencement of this tour you can add the additional night(s) accommodation as an extra at the time of booking.
  2. Should you require an airport transfer from Auckland International Airport to your Auckland accommodation this can be added as an extra at the time of booking, there are two options the first is a private transfer and the second is a joint transfer with others.
  3. At the time of booking your credit card information will be securely sent via the payment process. Your credit card will not be charged until the date of travel.
  4.  You may cancel at anytime up to 21 days prior to the date of travel without penalty, any cancellations within 21 days of the day of travel will incur the following cancellation fees:                   Any cancellations made up to 21 days prior to the date of travel will not incur any charges. Cancellations made within 21 days and up to 7 days of the date of travel will incur a 20% cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 7 days and up to 48 hours of the date of travel will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Any cancellations within 48 hours, or no shows, will be charged 100% of the tour cost.

  6. As from the 1st October 2019 all visitors regardless of passports, except Australian,  will require a tourism visa (NZeTA) which can be obtained online https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/apply-for-a-visa/about-visa/nzeta very straight forward process, the online fee is NZ$12.00 per person.
    Once you obtain the visa’s they are valid for 2 years and can be used more than once. They work exactly the same way as a US ESTA. The NZeTA is not avaioable to all nationalities, the site provides a list of elligible countries.
