Depart Picton this morning by boating crossing Queen Charlotte Sounds, past salmon farms and a host of sea birds on this scenic cruise to Ship Cove, a historic scenic reserve Captain Cook visited during the 17th Century. You will then enjoy a guided walk along the Queen Charlotte Track from Ship Cove to Endeavor Inlet (14 kilometers / 5 hours approximately). What is regarded as the premier section of the track, with magnificent views of the sounds, you will be walking through a mixture of podocarp and beech forest with punga ferns and other New Zealand native foliage. The informative local guide will explain the European and pre European connections to the area and provide information on flora and fauna. The tour includes a gourmet packed lunch. From Endeavor inlet return to Picton by boat.
