Depart Queenstown for Milford Sounds by road, travelling initially along the shores of Lake Wakatipu to Te Anau and then along the Milford Road, one of the finest alpine drives in the world. The scenery is exceptional, ranging from broad grassy flats, dense rainforest, and towering mountains through to glacial lakes and alpine herb fields. The coaches have been purpose built with tiered and angled seating towards the windows so you have the best view wherever you sit. They also have glass roofs so you don’t miss out on seeing the stunning snow-capped mountains along the way. The drivers have been selected for their knowledge of the Fiordland region and driving experience and the schedule allows plenty of time for short nature walks and photo stops along the way. Itinerary

• Travel by coach from Queenstown to Te Anau with a stop in Te Anau to explore this charming lakeside township.

• Continue on to Milford Sounds via Fiordland National Park and the Homer Tunnel

• In Milford Sounds join the 2½ hour Nature Cruise on Milford Sounds (2 hours in winter)

• Picnic Lunch onboard the Cruise is included

• At the conclusion of the cruise return to Queenstown by road retracing your journey into Milford Sounds

• As an alternative you can return to Queenstown by scenic flight in a light aircraft. Optional extra Tour LT-96A
